We at GearLaunch know you care about how your and your customers’ personal information is used and shared, and we take your and your customers’ privacy seriously.  Please read the following to learn more about our Shopify App Privacy Policy. By using or accessing our App and Services in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent that we will collect, use, and share your information in the following ways.

Remember that your use of the App and our Services is at all times subject to GearLaunch’s Shopify Terms of Use https://www.gearlaunch.com/shopify-terms-of-use, which incorporates this Privacy Policy.  Any terms we use in this Policy without defining them have the definitions given to them in our Shopify Terms of Use https://www.gearlaunch.com/shopify-terms-of-use.  

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access the following types of personal information from your Shopify account:

  • Your name

  • Your e-mail address.

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers after you have installed the App:

  • Information about the browsing activity of individuals that visit the App, including web browser details.

  • Billing information you provide to us.

  • Shipping information that your customers provide on your Seller Store.

We also collect information from you either directly or through a third-party service provider using the following technologies (“Tracking Technologies”):

  • “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Services, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

  • “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Services.

Your or your customers’ web browser(s) may offer a “Do Not Track” option, which allows the individual to signal to operators of websites and web applications and services (including behavioral advertising services) that he or she does not wish such operators to track certain of his or her online activities over time and across different websites.  Our Services do not support Do Not Track requests at this time, which means that we may collect information about your and your customers’ online activity both while you are using the Services and after you leave our Services.

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for or use the Services or App or send any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.  Please e-mail us at [email protected] if you believe that a child under 13 may have provided us personal information.

How We Use the Personal Information the App Collects

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Services and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information for the following purposes:

  • Communicate with you at your request;

  • Provide you with information about updates to the Services and App;

  • Optimize or improve the Services and App; and

  • Provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

Sharing Personal Information

We do not rent or sell your or your customers’ personal information to anyone, and we do not share that personal information with anyone except as expressly described in this section.

As explained above, we collect information from you through Tracking Technologies.  Some of that collection is done through or by our third-party service providers, including Google Analytics (https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/).  Some of our third-party service providers collect information from you and your customers through Tracking Technologies to provide us with certain services, including VWO (https://www.vwo.com), which provides us with A/B testing services. We do not perform remarketing or targeted advertising on you or your customers (whether directly or through third parties).

If we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, enter bankruptcy, or go through some other change of control, your and your customers’ personal information could be among the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party.

Finally, we may also share your and your customers’ personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, to enforce our terms of use, or to otherwise protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves, our employees, our customers, or others.

Access to Personal Information

Through your account settings, you may access, and, in some cases, edit or delete the following information:

  • Your name;

  • Your e-mail address;

  • Billing information you provide to us; and

  • Shipping information that your customers provide on your Seller Store.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.  We will alert you to changes by sending a notice via the App, by sending you an email, and/or by some other means.
